Meat Curtain

I'm speechless

This is the sort of tattoo that makes me wonder hard why this site is called "horrible tattoos". I love the surrealistic tone of this ink and it's brilliantly executed as far as one can tell from such a small pic... I'd be really really curious to know what you find "horrible" about it (or the brain tattoo below).

... oh, and also I would be very curious to see an example of what you consider to be a "good tattoo" - while some tats here are clearly atrocious, others are great tattoos in my book.

eurk... :s

May be you can just subtitle this site "and astonishing ideas"...

Agree with curious : this tatoo is extremely original and very well done. The idea is weird but if the overall aim of a tatoo is to shock society, this one more than fills its cup.

wh0o said the idea of a tattoo is to shock society?
if i saw someone with this tattoo i'd punch them in the head... hard.

Am I the only person here familiar with the term 'beef curtains'?

Seriously folks? Do I need to explain it? Let me know if I do.

If you think this is a clever piece of surrealism then you may want to familiarise yourself with slang terminology for the female genitalia.

I would say it's beautifully drawn but nonetheless not my cup of tea... I guess it comes down to what's interesting to you personally.

Yeah I was beginning to wonder if anyone actually got what its referring to...
it's done amazingly though, credit to the artist.

This was done at 13 roses tattoo parlor in Atlanta, great shop but they tend to do alot of very strange tattoo's

LOL @ curious --- do you know what "meat curtains" are?

Even worse are the cobwebs and flies once you are aware of the meaning, lol ...

So very, very gross.

Of course people know what it means, but that doesn't make it a bad tattoo. Maybe another subtitle for this blog should be "and tattoo concepts I think are dumb or weird." Whoever does this blog has repeatedly shown his artistic ignorance, both in judging well executed tattoos as "horrible" and by clearly not recognizing some of the most popular artists of the genre (Sailor Jerry, Ed Roth, Robert Williams, Coop, just to name a few...)

As you have guessed, I choose these tattoos on the basis of their execution and/or the idea. Would you consider a beautifully executed dick tattoo on someones forehead a good tat since it looks nice ? Well, I don'. So what if they are done by the best tattoo artist in the world, if Picasso would have drawn a crappy painting would you still say its magnificent since its the bloody Picasso after all ?

So...because you don't like the idea, it's crappy? I'm with you till the last sentence, really: I think this is a fabulous, funny piece of art and was done amazingly well, and it was massively stupid for someone to get this is an area everyone can see unless he's prepared to get punched in the head. Although I'm not sure why anyone would punch someone for something fairly innocuous. It's just a pun.
A lot of people are squicked out and even offended by Picasso paintings, let alone Salvadore Dali. But, yes, artists DO think they're magnificent in technical detail, and even in artistic value. Ever even heard of Maplethorpe?
